Mexican Horchata

There is nothing quite like real authentic homemade Mexican food.
Chain restaurants will just not satisfy the craving for the real intense and rich flavors of a real homemade Mexican meal. Restaurants tend to add too much lettuce with melted cheese and not enough spices, which truly kills the taste and richness of a Mexican dinner. To compliment a home cooked Mexican masterpiece, homemade horchata will round out the entire dish with an exquisite gourmet compliment.

Horchata has a unique flavor all its own, and can even be an acquired taste. But look out! Once you do aquire the taste you may become hooked.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups rice milk
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine the rice milk, honey, and cinnamon in a blender and process until the mixture is smooth (like a milk shake), about 10 seconds. Pour the liquid through a fine sieve and reserve the sweetened liquid.
  2. Fill two glasses with ice and pour the liquid with ice and pour the liquid over the top.
